Berhane Wongel Baptist Church Development Organization (BWCDO)

Berhane Wongel Baptist Church Development Organization is an organization that aims to carry out Necessary and vital development activities in the community and to make the needy self-sufficient. This service is provided with financial support from foreign aid agencies and local donors and the amendment is made in accordance with Proclamation No.1113/2019

Establishment:

Berhane Wongel Baptist Church Development Organization was established on December 1993 GC.

Mission: To serve all people with True Love who we are working with through our development organization working with churches and communities in all parts of the country for the sustainable development.

Vision: To see the transformed society whose center-stage is Justice, Peace, the fulfillment of human rights and development.

BWCDO Implements mainly 3 Programs, These programs are; Holistic Children Development Projects, Students Hostel Services and Orphanage support program:

Programs and Projects:

1) Holistic Children Development Projects
– These projects are found in 13 sites of church compound and fully funded by Compassion International. These projects lists are namely;

  1. Gofa mazoria Berhane Wongel Children Development Project
  2. Muka Turi Berhane Wongel Children Development Project + Child survival program
  3. Toke Berhane Wongel Children Development Project + Child survival program
  4. Gedo Berhane Wongel Children Development Project + Multi site project
  5. Kore Berhane Wongel Children Development Project + Child survival program
  6. Dire Inchini  Berhane Wongel Children Development Project
  7. Sebeta  Berhane Wongel Children Development Project 
  8. Holeta Berhane Wongel Children Development Project
  9. Karre Goha Berhane Wongel Children Development Project  
  10. Mechela Berhane Wongel Children Development Project 
  11. Ambo Berhane Wongel Children Development Project

2) Students Hostel support

  • These hostels are found in four sites of Borena zone and fully funded by Eagle Brook Association of USA. Hostels sites are;
    1. Yabello Berhane Wongel Hostel
    2. Dubluk Berhane Wongel Hostel
    3. Dida-Hara Berhane Wongel Hostel
    4. Higo Berhane Wongel Hostel

3) World Orphan Program

  • These projects are found in four sites, namely:
    1. Kore Berhane Wongel World Orphan project
    2. Adisalem Berhane Wongel World Orphan project
    3. Weliso Berhane Wongel World Orphan project, and
    4. Bakke Berhane Wongel World Orphan project
